Has anyone added shutters and did they make any difference to heat levels and noise reduction?
Or are good quality curtains a better/cheaper option?

I have old internal shutters on some downstairs single glazed sash and bay sash windows. Where they fit we!l, they are excellent at soundproofing, keeping heat in or out.
However, the window recesses are large enough for shutters to be concealed. Unless your windows are in a deep wall, or have angled side recesses, shutters might look odd.
Well fitting heavy curtains do a lot.0 -
Very helpful.
Any suggestions of where to get good value shutters or curtains?
