2 CCJS from the same company but the court names are different

Hi,

I!!!8217;ve tried reading lots of threads but haven!!!8217;t found one similar yet.

I had a ccj issued in Dec 2012, I have never paid anything and I have never been chased for payment.

Last week I gotta letter with a new claim number for a new amount from County court Business

I checked my credit report to check the date as I know it!!!8217;s coming up to 6 years and it now shows I have 2 ccjs with 2 different claim numbers.


The first one says

2012
Amount
£ 4,754
Court name
Northampton Ccmcc

and now a recent one says


2018
Amount
£ 10,077
Court name
County Court Business Centre

Can I get two ccjs for the same debt or can they file a new claim before the 6 years is up?

I haven!!!8217;t replied to the recent letter yet, any advice would be much appreciated.

I don’t have any other debts other than this ccj from a property company who I rented a unit from. I gave notice to leave after 1 year but a clause left me tied in for another 3 years.

I want to know if I got a ccj from them in 2012 , can I get another one from them in 2018?

Yes they can but not for the same debt.

You can get the court to send you the particulars of claim and then work out if you have grounds for set aside...if that's what you want to do.
