Does anyobody know how long this normally takes for the transfer to go through? I kind of need the money by Tuesday at the latest (if i send today) but I guess I wont receive it by then? i take it HSBC arent any faster than other banks

Im currently abroad so i cant exactly go into the branches and do it fast ;)

  • If you do it online today, the it should, all things being equal arrive in to Lloyds on Wednesday. That's how it works for me between LLoyds/Citibank/Norwich & Peterborough/Capital One. You will not be able to do a chaps payment (same day) without going in to a branch I think.

If possible, I'd get on line and get it done ASAP.

A free BACS transfer from HSBC to Lloyds is likely to take 2 working days - so if you instruct them to transfer the money today it should arrive on Tuesday.

If you called HSBC, they would also be able to do a same day CHAPS transfer if you wanted - though I believe that costs £20 and you would need to call them before 2:30/3pm to catch their cut off time
