Water under floorboards

We have an old 7 bedroom victorian house built circa 1874. When we moved in we experienced a power cut and realised we had lost power due to water under the floorboards. In the garden a few years after we moved in we discovered a well/water chamber which has pipes entering and leaving which run across the garden. We rodded one with chimney poles and reached the road before we hit a blockage (this may be because the road was built after the house). Anyway to alleviate the problem we have pump in the well which has a float and when the level reaches a certain point the pump kicks in. This is not ideal so I would like to know who we need to get in to help with the problem and is it something we can claim on our insurance for?

wIf ater is causing you power to cut, your looking at a potential source of fire. Not to mention, possible subsidence issues down the line and mold problems.
You need to get a pro in to have a look ASACP for your own safety.0
