Can't install GeForce 7 Card - Installation SW says "Graphics Card Not Found"

Well
Everest, downloaded from this site: http://majorgeeks.com/download4181.html
gave me the make and model of the motherboard. It is an Asus type.
I then got the manual from the Asus website, actually directed via the Everest report.
The manual was OK in that it lead the way to the BIOS settings.
Once I found out how to get into the BIOS (DEL on startup) I was able to navigate my way to the graphics settings.
Onboard graphics was then disabled and the default card was changed to the AGP card (AGP, not PCI).
Then the monitor lost it signal and regained it when I plugged it into the new card.
