Obtain a letter from Barclaycard stating the old card number and new card number. Thereafter request the merchant to refund the amount on the new card.

Just an update.
After Barcalycard advising that they would issue a cheque. Asked to confirm bank details which I did. Then had another msg asking for lots of information, re transaction date, details etc most of which ghad already been provided. Replied advising that the information had been given and I considered it onerous and unnecessary to have to provide again
Its a refund and its my money
Fortunately same day got a cheque from supplier(Costco)- they had said they would ask account dpt to issue one but procedure was to refund to card then when returned to issue cheque.
No idea if went to baclaycard, but 10 out of 10 to Costco, of 4 e-mails from barclaycard 3 Ok, so score 7 to Barclaycard.

I had a refund onto my Barclaycard from about 18 months ago, so a completely different card number etc. It worked fine, all I got was a letter from Barclaycard, sort of telling me off for using old account numbers :rotfl:
