  • I "freegled" my last offcut. It was collected by somebody who wanted it for a tiny box room.

We had the largest bit whipped and use it as a mat on top of the carpet in the hall - is handy when you can't get your shoes off and the alarm is beeping.

MIL had a flood in her downstairs loo so we used a bit in there.

If you're worried about heavy items of furniture leaving dent marks in your carpet, for example because you might move them later, or move house, put pieces of offcut at the pressure points, e.g. under legs of beds, tables etc. That way most of the dent mark goes into the offcut.

If you have pets, they might appreciate an extra layer of carpet under their bed.

That's a good reminder, I've got some offcuts I put under the feet of the ironing board to stop marking the carpet. We've also got some small bit we use as padding under the feet of the loft ladder.
