IPOD NANO G3 - Emergency!!

Help... I brought my first Ipod yesterday and it's worked fine until about an hour ago... now it's frozen!

I'm at the menu screen and that's it... it doesn't do anything when I connect up to my PC either... I can't turn it off... Nothing!

I know that you can reset your Ipod in Itunes but as it doesn't show in the file menu ie: my ipod is grayed out.

What do I do??????

Try a reset. With the nano unplugged from the mac, toggle the hold button on and then off. Then hold the menu button and the centre select button both until the apple logo appears. Hopefully all will be well when it restarts.

I have a nano G3 thats frozen a few times, not total failure, but when it changes to the next track it just stops and doesnt continue.

Ive also noticed that when its plugged into the car stereo it will display the first track name and not change when the song does. The only way it will display the playing song title if if you FF on the stereo itself. I put it down to new technology not liking the old ipod connections, but Im not so sure...

I would check for ipod software updates or do a 'restore' from the iTunes menu when the ipod is connected.

The weird behaviour suggets a restore (with the latest software) is probably the best move.
    Good luck.
  • Our Ipod has just been replaced due to it keep freezing.

I would make an app at your nearest Apple Store and get them to check it out on their systems

Our ipod mini freezes sometimes and only way is to reset, holding middle button and menu together.

Mind you it needs a new battery now as it does hold its charge, thats one of Apples drawback I wish they would take normal batteries
