Hi, I thought I would post here instead of creating a new topic. What happens before a few weeks of my flight? will Thomas Cook post my boarding pass for the airport to check in when I arrive at the airport? or do I need to print it out? I don't have a printer, but got a new PC. And when do I get my boarding pass? Any advice would be great, thanks 0 0

I have travelled with Thomas Cook airways and the boarding pass was printed at the airport.
Just get there in plenty of time.
You will get your boarding pass when you check in.0

I've flown with them too. Mine was emailed to me. I used my phone rather than printing it.0

Online check-in depends on who you're flying with.0

Anyone can work this out for me? I returned back to my job (Express Gifts in Accrington as a picker as they getting busy now) and one of the policies is that we have to do a security search (this is to check if we have stolen any clothes / items) - Now, this is where I am confused, today we done a search and one of the security men searched me and he scanned me down with one of them long things but when he want down to my jeans it started going off when he got to my leg, now I don't know how this can happen? he even said that's weird unless the scanner he was holding is faulty? and before anyone says this, no, I got no metal plates in my leg and never had an operation, I am getting worried / paranoid now, will this be an issue when I arrive at Manchester Airport in January for my holiday to Benidorm? will security not let me on the plane?
Its starting to bug me now and I am worried 0 0

            You will be fine.
If it goes off they may ask you to roll your trouser leg up - no more.0

These days you pass through a whole-body scanner and then patted down thoroughly by hand if it detects anything. You have nothing whatever to worry about (unless you have had some kind of bionic limb implant without your knowledge, even then its probably ok).Evolution, not revolution0

 This is absolutely right.
Before going through the scanner (just like walking through a doorway), you'll have to empty your pockets into a tray and take off any coats, hand luggage and possibly shoes. If you're wearing a belt and any jewellery then you'll take that off too. They all go into trays and through x ray on a conveyor belt and meet you at the other side of the scanner.
Although this removes most of the likely metal bits that would set off the scanner there might still be more. Jeans often have metal studs and zips that set off those scanners so don't worry about it. I always set it off with some jewellery that's difficult to remove.
Do be careful to not put anything in hand luggage that shouldn't be there. These will be picked up on the x ray and then they'll want to search your bag to remove them. Specifically liquid toiletries in containers more than 100 ml or anything like scissors or penknives. You'll find a list on your airline's website.
Just ask if you're not sure.:)0

I routinely remove everything I can including my shoes. Despite this I am invariably stopped and patted down.
 I fly about 5 or 6 times a year and I can't remember the last time I sailed through a U.K. airport.
Which reminds me. Leave yourself way more time to get to the airport and get through security than you think. At peak times it can take forever. Time flys (no pun intended) at airports.0

If the OP submits the paper version of the passport application, you must use a black ink pen. My relative had their application returned because they'd used a blue ink pen.
To add to the list of items that may set off the airport scanner, for female passengers who are wearing an underwired bra.........that might set off the (walk through archway type) scanner.
I know it won't be an issue for the male OP but just thought it was worth mentioning.
Apologies to the courteous staff who do exist but in my experience, arriving at your destination can be stressful due to the very slow moving queues. Then the stern/grumpy/surly staff who inspect your passport and ask questions. Be prepared for the worst experience and anything better is a bonus.
Enjoy your holiday and happy travelling
