Nov- emergency fund still stands at £2000/£2000-target reached.
Car fund-£1000/1500, I was hoping to add a little more and make it to at least £1300, but I decided to relax my money budget a little more than I was going to for the next two months, so I can have Xmas days out without worrying I'll go over budget. Given myself and extra £300 to play with this month. Any not spent will go towards car fund.
Nov wage, will add £500 to car fund and that goal will be reached.
This month £3000 in savings, end of Nov-£3500.
End of Dec-£4000.
By the end of Dec I want a minimum of £4000 overall in savings.
I want to start Jan 2019 with £4000 already saved. By the end of the year, I aim to have at least 10,000 saved by Dec 2019. But will go into more detail with this when I get chance to sit down and do this properly.
£2 savings-I have 35 coins now, so £70-I'm not touching this until it's £100, then I will change it and add to car fund and start my £100 £2 target again.0 -

Nov-£9000 + £500=£9500
Dec-£9500 + £500=£10,000
By Dec I aim to have £10,000 at least.
I've put them down on here and on paper and going to do this as 'saving snowball' if it's down on paper and on here I'm more likely to do it, as I like ticking things off.0 -
Slight tweak to saving plans. I Was planning on giving myself extra money this month, but haven't felt I needed to really spend it as I'm so used to living on a budget I just see it as wasted money.
So I currently have (altogether) but different pots, £4600.
Nov I will add another minimum of £500, taking total to £5100.
Dec I will add anothe minimum of £500, taking it to £5600.
Either way be Dec i want to reach £5000 savings target.0 -
End of Nov 2018, one more pay day of 2018.
Change in above plan. Had to use some of my savings for bits and bobs of things wanting to break-typical!!
Anyway, it's just reminded me of how important an emergency fund is and how much of a different place I'm in now compared to last year/previous 10 years.
This Dec will be the first Dec I enter debt free for 10+ years!!
I'm debt free and have £3700 saved.
Dec I will add another £500 to emergency fund=£4200 buy end of 2018. No a substantial amount by any means, but it's savings-something I've never had!
I adore Christmas, so need to keep a tab on spends. I don't go too crazy moneywise, but I can see how I could easily go 'off track' as the holiday session creeps up. So need to be keep a check in on here.
Going to try and leave as much money as possible in my account this month to try and re-build what I've had to spend at the end of this month.
Will be drawing out £50 tomorrow and making that last until next Friday, any left over I will just top up to £50. I have a couple of busy weekends, but doesn't have to cost a fortune (if I keep track)
It's amazing how much of a different head space I'm in this year.
Last Christmas, I was very neatly debt free, but it really does feel amazing to be debt free and have a back up.
Anyone who is in a bad place this Christmas-I promise it can and will get better, it just takes time and commitment.
Happy Decemeber to you all0 -
Oh that is amazing!
To think this is your first December not only debt free but with a chunk of money behind you. You really are an inspiration to me! Amazing how much your monthly savings are quickly adding up to.Store card £140 £117 - Store card £150 - Overdraft £200 - PayPal £364 - Loan 1 £5052 - Loan 2 £1733 - Credit card £2890 - Car hire purchase £3200 - Savings £0.0 -
Thanks Pidge04, really kind of you.
I know, I'm thrilled to be celebrating the festive season with no debt! Truly is the best Christmas gift!
Keep, your chin up and have a Merry Christmas0 -
Nearly Christmas!!! I told myself I wouldn't I crazy this Christmas, but kind of have!!
Treated myself to some new Xmas clothes-well a truly needed!!! Not been clothes shopping for a VERY long time!! Had some lovely Christmas days out etc and some more planned.
So savings pot as taken another hit (hangs head) but I still aim to have savings for end of Dec-but less than I was wanting.
Aiming for £3200. Currently got £2500 saved.
I'm not beat myself up about spending more money this month than I wanted, as I've had a blooming good time!
But must get back on it in Jan!0 -
Well, I can't believe it's Christmas Eve! I've bought all my gifts with MY money-not borrowed and without owing a penny. Although, I haven't put Christmas on the credit card for a couple of years, but this is the first Christmas I am entering rout owing a single penny!! Last year, I didn't owe much entering Christmas, but I was still in debt!
I can't not explain the feeling of enjoying Christmas without the dreaded debt after!
I hope everyone has a wonderful for Christmas and for those who feel they can't/won't-make it so you can next year-anything is possible!
Soooooooooo excited!!!!0 -
Happy New Year! And I've got my 1year badge :-)
I've started 2019 with zero debt-first year and a VERY long time!!!
I wanted to start the year with £4000 savings, but due to life and bills etc only got £2500 saved up.
I'm more focussed than ever to get some serious savings behind me this year!!0 -
Going to make sure I check in everyday/every two days, as I need to give my head a wobble!!
Been spending far too easily recently!! Time to stop!!
First NSD for a while. Took my lunch to work and didn't stop off for any shopping.
£2600 as emergency fund, but I need to really start rebuilding this, as I wanted £4000/£5000 the beginning of this year!
Anyway, plan is written down and list created to tick this off every pay day-I do love a tick list! Started my £2 saving jar again and won't change it all until the begin of Dec 2019.
Savings currently £2600. I will try and add another £500 towards this at the end of the month, making emergency fund-£3100.
I'm starting a Christmas pot this year, so will add £30 to that at the end of the month.
£2 jar fund is at £28.
Asda card- £4, I'm going to add a couple of pounds Everytime i go and not use it until Dec 2019. If I only add a couple of pounds here and there, it doesn't feel like I'm spending a fortune at once.
Totally savings altogether at the moment= £2632.
I really must et for at least 10 NSD absolute minimum this month. 1/10 achieved.0
