Get incorrect address corrected on CRAs report

Hello,

I am aware that, if I want an incorrect address to be reported correctly, I need to contact the lender(s). I do have their contacts.

However...

I was wondering if there is a specific format that I need to follow when requesting they report the correct address.

Anybody able to help re what to say and how to say it? Do I need to submit proof of address proactively?

Thanks!

  • Just tell them that they are reporting your address incorrectly.

Do you receive correspondence from said lenders in the correct address format?

YES!!! The most troublesome part is, my own bank sends me statements with the correct address but, for some odd reason, when it reports my account to all 3 CRAs, it chops the "Flat 1" part of it!

I have no idea on why - especially because my bank does use the Royal Mail format (even issues credit cards for the Postal Office!) and yet it doesn't report in the correct format.

Log with CRA and also put a complaint to lender. Easily fixable. Had an address error fixed with a bank recently.

You might find that people do not quite get why its important. You need to point out that when you apply for credit the address mismatch is going to cause problems.
