Have decided to take a walk each day- got me thinking:
Any recommendations for a good hr-long walk - round the greater Belfast area?
round Hillsborough Lake, Helens Bay , Lagan toe-path

Redburn Country Park on the Old Holywood Road. It is very steep in places but the view from the top is well worth the effort to get there...especially on a nice clear day.0

A few spring to mind,
Belmont Road East Belfast, park in the car park just before the Old Holywood road, there's a nice path through the park, crossing over Parkway.
Cultra, park down at the Yacht Club along the sea front and walk along the shore,
Carrickfergus, park in the Harbour car park and walk to the far end of the Marine Highway, cross the road and walk back along past Mauds and the Joymount Arms, heading back through the old part of the town.
Bangor, park in the sea front car park and walk along past the old pickie pool and along to the mouth of the harbour entrance.Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0 -
I would walk along the towpath from either Loughshore or Hazelbank in Whiteabbey along to Duncrue and back. Nice walk along the lough.

Victoria Park, Ormeau Park, Killynether forest up at Scrabo, Helen's Tower from the Crawfordsburn Road Ards and one across from it is a lovely walk if you are heading towards Clandeboye lodge you will see a layby and "Ulster way" signs on the left.Dave0 -
At the top of the Cregagh road try Cregagh Glen. Details here:

I would say it would take at least an hour. Great view at the top over Belfast.
Stormont has more to offer than is immediately obvious. When going in the main gates, take a left and there are various paths through the forest. Keep going until you are up at the Massey road entrance, cross the road and keep going. You will find another forest walk which takes you up and round a lovely glen. Again about an hour all in. Lots of different paths so you can vary the walk. Belvoir and Redburn are also excellent. Good walking.0
