Folder sharing in Windows given up?

I have 2 laptops and 1 desktop, have hapily been sharing printer cionnectd to desktop for 2 years. All of a sudden now cant access printer or see shared folders between PC's. Has MS done some patch or something?
Yes have got user IDs on each machine and like i said worked for 2 years. Have disabled firewalls and upgraded Netgear router firmware but just cannot fix it.
Any ideas?

since all have stopped and i assume the internet is ok then i would look at testing a different router, or just having 2 pc's on the network, wired, and try and get them connected.Nudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0
