Economical picture Framing service needed

My son is a railway buff and recently visited London transport Museum where he bought a VERY long poster map of the London underground District line. Now he wants to frame it to put up in his house. He asked us if we would contribute towards the cost as his birthday present.
We took it round to the local framers and chose a narrow Green metal frame and asked for it to be mounted with a lightweight hardboard,MDF type backing (.it does not need mounting in a special cardboard mount) and to use plexiglass instead of glass which would be too heavy. We were quoted £270. we have used them before and they are not usually very expensive but he said he could not do it for less
It could be local shop rents I suppose but he has been there a long time. Just for comparison, can anyone recommend a cheap good framer in !London and Home Counties. Please do not suggest we do it ourselves, we have zero expertise and do not own the necessary power tools even if we could buy the materials.

This is the issue we had last year when we bought some framed photos on holiday and then realised that they weren't standard frame sizes so had to take them to a local framing shop. Couldn't believe the price of them and we're not even in London! On-line businesses couldn't offer much better.
In your shoes I'd look at the possibility of a frameless solution - order a pre-cut piece of plexiglass, and sandwich the poster between that and a stiff piece of cardboard or MDF as the backing, held together by frameless clips and hanging clips (easy to order on line from picture framing suppliers). As it's a map, this could look really good (and if it doesn't, you won't have wasted a lot of money?)

I have a panoramic Jigsaw which I have glued and mounted on expanded polystyrene. I'm just waiting for the 'fixings' to arrive. I am using the Command Strips.0

You don't say how big is big but I had a large picture mounted and framed for my mum a good number of years ago from this company

They used perspex because of the size of the picture.
If they don't have exactly what you want in terms of frame it could be worth contacting them to see if they can assist.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
