Best cottage hire - late deals

Left it a bit late to book a few days in a cottage away, preferably N Yorkshire for 4ht Sept as all booked up. Can anyone point me to some way I have at least a good chance of finding a nice rural location, at a late deal with reasonable prices ?

I've been holidaying in cottages in the UK for years and recently found that they've gone up in price quite considerably!
Have you tried AirBnB?
