Ideal boiler faulty heat exchanger?

I have a Logic 30 which keeps leaking. It is now 7 years old and having googled the problem I have discovered that Ideal are aware of pinhole leaks in their heat exchangers and cannot recall affected units. I am arranging for a plumber to visit but how to go about getting Ideal to honour the failure, if this proves to be the case. Anyone else have this problem? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I think you need to establish facts before going any further.

Have you confirmed the heat exchanger is leaking or just guessing because you read an article on the internet?

Boilers can leak from a dozen different places so you're jumping the gun a bit here.

Even if it is leaking from the heat exchange the chances of Ideal doing anything about it are slim to none, it's 7 years old so it could be corroded due to sludge.

Im waiting for a plumber to arrive so yes, I am just guessing because of reading the article on the internet. I was hoping to avoid an expensive bill if the fault lies with a faulty heat exchanger. I will wait and see, but thankyou.

Ideal heat hex are crap, the early ones were made in China & leaked for fun, if you have got 7 years out of a logic you are very very lucky, you won't get anywhere with Ideal fixing it foc
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

As above: change it now for something decent and cut your losses. It's well out of warranty now.
