When Mum went into the care home I 'inherited' her old ewbank..........bliss it was and so easy to push around to pick bits up when it didn't warrant the hoover. Sadly its about had its day but Kleeneze do a carpet sweeper -think I'll have to get one

  • What a great post... I was only thinking of these cleaners this morning. I remember my mum having one & couldn't remember what they were called. Thanks to all the above posters.... I'll be off to Argos to redeem some Nectar points and save myself some electricity! I agree with MilliesMum - it'll be great to do a quick clean when expecting visitors!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I have one, so much easier than lugging a dyson upstairs, the kids love using it too.

I've one of those rubberised brooms & little handbrush & wouldn't be without either.

We've bog-standard carpet everywhere except the kitchen & bathroom, & the small brush is very effective on the stairs....free excercise for bingo-wings too :p

  • Oh yes I remember the ewbank too, as my Mum and Granny both had them. They were so light and did a grand job, and saves lugging a heavy hoover about the place especially for a little job at times:)
Do a little kindness every day.;)
  • THIS is the one I bought though I paid £12 for it from a local shop.

It's excellent and I haven't had the hoover out in days!!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
I have recently bought one of these

I have 2 cats and a dog and had been using a Dyson animal but was using it daily and its heavy to lug up and down stairs. Now I just do a full hoover once a week and keep on top of it daily with the sweeper. It's great.
