MSE Credit Club/Barclaycard Credit Score

Options
Hi all

I know it’s a meaningless score, but I do use it to gauge how I’m doing financially.

But anyway, I checked my MSE credit club score today and compared with Barclaycard and there is approx 300 difference. Admittedly the B’card one was last updated in June, but 300 points seems like a big jump don’t you think?

  • The temperature has gone up so it needs to fill the thermometer with numbers from somewhere :)

You!!!8217;re right it is meaningless and should not be used to gauge anything.

Out of interest have you taken out any new accounts or closed any new accounts? Made any searches anywhere?

I always find my !!!8220;score!!!8221; with the credit club and Experian!!!8217;s is sometimes 200-300 points out for no apparent reason

This is my Experian credit score according to Barclaycard (708 on 17th June 2018:

This is my Experian credit score straight from the horse's mouth (Experian itself) (999 a day or two ago):

My Experian credit score from MSE and Experian has always been 999 or just shy of it.

My Experian credit score from Barclaycard seems completely out of kilter with the scores obtained from other sources, including Experian itself.

Interestingly, the score from Barclaycard shows a massive drop of 300, or so, during June; and they show it twice, despite, supposedly, updating it only once every 60 days.

Barclaycard says this about the different scores:
I am already an Experian CreditExpert member and I have noticed my score as shown through Barclaycard.co.uk is different – why is this?

Your Experian Credit Score as accessed via Barclaycard.co.uk is updated every 60 days and so changes to your score may take longer to appear than through your CreditExpert membership.

A difference in score could also be directly related to the amount of information provided when signing up for either service. Experian require you to provide your address details for the last six years to be able to return the most accurate Experian Credit Score.

Barclaycard do not have access to your personal credit management history and so if you require personalised information please contact Experian directly.

Barclaycard initially had problems locating the Experian scores of myself and others.
