Intercontinental Hotel Group???

Hello, I have a new entry on my experian credit file for insurance from 'Intercontinental Hotel Group' I queried the entry as I don't know them and they have replied to say it is for my car insurance. The date is right and the amount is about right but my insurance is with Liverpool and Victoria. Does anyone know if there is a connection here - I have googled until my fingers are sore but cannot find any connection between L&V and Intercontinental Hotel Group. I don't know whether I should just accept its ok? I have house insurance with L&V and there is no entry on my credit file for that. I pay both insurances monthly.

I take it you found they are a hotel company so not sure why they appear on your report I dont know. They aren't even in the insurance trade.
Do you happen to have a IHG credit card ? What does the listing on Experian say for the IHG entry ?0 -
I think the IHG credit card is provided by Creation so I would expect to see their name for a CC.
Have you searched for insurance on a comparison website like Confused.com recently?0 -
is it a soft search? You at some point may have visited a comparison site and if its the anniversary of your renewal they'll do a check and send you recommendations.0

Was the only thing I could think of at the time, a comparison website is more plausible though.0
