  • Rosemary, you are the only person to provide a reply that wasnt belittling and making me feel like a con woman. Thank you.
I know the nail varnish was my fault and wouldnt have expected anything if it wasnt already damaged? I called debenhams and they advised if the dress is faulty, regardless im entitled to a refund. I took the dress back and thats what happened!!!
I am more disappointed by what is usually a really helpful forum to give advice or ideas reacting negativly to a genuine question that nobody answered. Im now disheartened by thevforum but refunded.

So now the manufacturer of the dress, who could have fixed a loose thread, is now stuck with a nail varnish damaged dress. Even worse would be if Debenhams put it back on the rack and another unfortunate person buys it. Nice

I,d hardly call a loose thread faulty you damaged it then had the cheek to ask for a refund you should be ashamed...

I didnt think you were a con woman, I thought you were careless and chancing your arm.

Now youve made an imaginary fault to get your money back, now I think youre a con woman...

I'm not sure how you picked me up as being the only non accusatory poster! Plenty of other straightforward, useful posts were made before I got here.

When you said loose thread I think I and most others were imagining a thread that just didn't get trimmed off properly. I have loads on garments I sew 'cos I very rarely go through thoroughly enough :o I'm guessing that isn't what you meant though given that you're getting a refund.

maisie cat - I doubt they'd send the dress for repair. It's unlikely to be worth the cost even before it got nail polish on it.
