I have an LGT4k TV bought this year. I have successfully added some apps e.g. YouTube, but I cannot work out how to do a plain vanilla Google search. Maybe it is the heat affecting my brain? ! Can anyone advise?

To open the web browser click on the home button on the remote, and select the button on the screen that appears as 3 diagonal dashes.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Sounds like you may have the newer version of Web OS.
So, the 'Browser' app is missing from the launcher bar?
If this is the case, can you reinstall it from the app store ('LG content store')?
I don't have an LG, just going on the info I have from helping a relative set up theirs. So, sorry if I'm not on point with this.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Good. Now use the right arrow to scroll right through the apps until you get to the browser. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
ok when I press the house button on my remote, it brings up the LG launcher bar options ,( but NO/// on bottom right.)
When I move the cursor to the right along the LG launcher bar, eventually it reaches a tab called called Web Browser. When I select this, it brings up a screen with a blank bar called new tab at the top, which looks like it would take a URl or search term but no keyboard pops up or can be retrieved so it is not possible to enter a search of any kind into this bar.
Below the blank new tab bar at the top of the screen are 5 graphic display panels side by side which show, reading from left to right: an ad for a boxing match labelled AD SPONSOR, the BBC homepage, the Amazon homepage, the Facebook homepage and a "random"page called "electronics, cars etc,". Underneath are a set of blank panels with a heading on the left saying Most Visited Sites.
it is not possible to scroll to the right of the final panel on the right or to retrieve an electronic keyboard to enter text onto the screen. There is nothing else called web browser in the LG Launcher.0 -
When you are in the URL bar if you press 'OK' a keyboard should appear.
If not, have you checked in the settings?
I think it's Settings, General, language and Input, Current keyboard and if I remember correctly you can turn it on and off.
It should be on by default, but worth a check.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Clicking OK when in web browser does not display keyboard. It displays an empty box at the top of the screen with a flashing cursor but no keyboard. Below the empty box is the headings Favourites and below that a row of display panels (eg Youtube). Below that is a row of (empty) panels under the heading sites recently visited. Also the navigation arrows on the remote will not work on this screen.
in Settings /General/Language I get the following options
Menu Language ( English)
Primary audio Language (english)
Voice recognition language (English)
keyboard languages (English)
primary Teletext language (English)
The only option available with keyboard (keyboard languages) is a choice of which language you want to use. Not on or off.
I cannot find any option for Current keyboard on or off or indeed anything at all to set up keyboard on or off anywhere in the Settings.
Does anyone here have the LG launcher bar option and can look up web browser and see if they can get it to work?0 -
Why do you want to use a web browser on a TV?0
