Salary sacrifice and Universal Credits
later
Hi, I get universal credits, and work full time. But I was looking at a salary sacrifice scheme to get a bicycle, and was wondering if there was a calculator anywhere, or a rule I could use, to find out how it affects UC, please?

Speak to your companies payroll about how they report your data to HMRC. In regard to the net amount reported for DWP benefit purposes, how does this salary sacrifice affect this ?
UC won't know about this. They simply receive the data your employers send to HMRC. So no calculator or rule related to UC. It will be HMRC payroll rules that is the issue here. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -

Whilst that is correct in terms of the mechanism - the UC legislation defines income. The RTI reporting doesn't override that. For example, you can deduct unreimbursed work expenses from your UC income - that isn't in the RTI feed but it is in the UC legislation.
