Furniture Guard insurance

On Feb 2017 I purchased 2 leather sofas from "Oak Furnitureland" and was sold a 5year protection policy with "Furniture Guard"
On the 25 July I noticed some marks on the headrest of one of the sofas, on closer examination it appeared that some of the leather dye had come off.
So I thought not to worry I have a furniture protection policy so I submitted a claim which a few days later was rejected.
I decided that this policy was not worth the paper it was written on and I would cancel it and claim back the money for the remainder of the term. On reading the companies terms and conditions it states that if you cancel the the policy then no refund of premium will be payable.
My question is can they do this and do I have any statuary rights in the matter.

Policy bought 18 months ago no rights to a refund .T&C
If you thought it was not worth the paper it was printed on why buy it ??
Did they say why repair was refused .0 -
Is there someone bald that sits there all the time? If so I believe that will be the rejection, the T&Cs state that what's not covered is "removal of stains caused by a build up of perspiration, hair and body oils;"0

How much did the 5 year policy cost? You've effectively paid twice, as the sofa would have come with at least a one year warranty anyway.
Sound like, under those terms, you've invalidated the warranty by being foolish enough to sit on it...No free lunch, and no free laptop

Certain types of medication, particularly for heart conditions, can cause the leather due to fail and rub off where the medicated person's skin touches the leather. Also some hair products can strip the dye as well. Did they give you the reason why the claim was rejected? Do you know the cause of the mark?Well informed on the subjects of sofas and wood furniture, and well opinionated on everything else :rotfl:0
