Gentoo (group) trickle vents gripe

Has anyone had any luck having these removed from their pvc windows?
I find they are flimsy, can easily be moved around by lightly pressing, and they let a lot of noise and air through even when closed, counter-productive to the nature of double-glazing to be energy efficient and (in my opinion) more soundproofed than single-glazing (which i had when renting last property, found them to be /more/ soundproof due to not having these vents).
I'm due an appointment with my housing manager, so this will definitely be raised at that point, but what is your experience?
Cheers.

I just stuff trickle vents full of insulation material, I've never found them to serve any useful purpose. If you're troubled with condensation though, that may not be a good idea.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Yeh? I'll see what the housing manager says, if they can do something then I won't need to bother, if not then i'll give that a try.
What material do you recommend?0
