Won 2 prizes in July!

New to comping, and thanks to all who post comps on here - won a Speedy Weeder from Grow Your Own magazine, and a box of Arden's snacks (GH mag I think).
A question to those more experienced - what's the deal with those 'choose 3 numbers' type comps? Seem like a waste of time as surely the chance of picking the same numbers is more remote than winning the lottery, and if there is only one prize then surely it's set only to be won on its closing date? Does anyone win them at all? Seems a bit dodgy!

Previously they offered far larger prizes at even longer odds than they do now (some were 4 million to one or even more) and if the prize was not won by the closing date it was not won so they were offering lots of big prizes that were never won (not cheating simply the odds).
Now they have cut the odds to just over 400,000 to one and reduced the prize values considerably but each competition remains open until the prize is won.0 -
