Purchase Card - Credit Limit

Hi All,

I am hoping to make the purchase of a new car via a purchasing credit card.

I have a very very good credit limit but appreciate with this type of card that the limit will be capped somewhat.

Does anybody mind sharing what limit they have been given for this type of card?

That's a "how long is a piece of string?" question.

No-one will have the same salary, credit commitment, length of accounts, time on the electoral roll and repayment history that you have. Therefore lenders will assess them differently.

It's certainly possible to get limits above £10k. It's possible to apply for more than one card at the same time and double (or triple) that.

Unless you're a very high earner I don't think you would see a limit over £20k out of the box. People who have those generally start lower and then get an increase.

Anecdotally Virgin, MBNA and possibly Barclaycard tend to be more generous with limits than others.
