The label doesn't state they are non-chlorine resistant though.

Well it wouldnt. It also doesnt say it IS chlorine resistant.

Things dont tend to list what they are not. I understand where you are coming from saying 'well swimwear should be expected to come into contact with chlorine' but that doesnt mean they are all resistant to it. They dont melt in it, but it pretty much attacks the fabric.

Fashion brands, such as Freya, don't make chlorine resistant swimwear. If you want that you need to buy from a company that specialises in competitive costumes, such as Speedo or Zoggs. Chlorine resistant material tends to be very rough and doesn't stretch very well, hence the limited use in fashion garments.

Unless swimwear claims to be chlorine resistant you have to assume it's not.

Agree with the above. In effect you are paying for a souped up bra and a fashion item.Maybe try and shop at sale time?
What is a tankini anyway. Could you not just wear a good wired bra under a cheap nylon camisole??!!

A tankini is a 2 piece that looks like a swimming costume. very practical with good coverage!
I dont want to wear any of the above.I am not an Olympic swimmer, i dont power up and down the pool. I am a normal person on holiday, dipping in and out of the pool to cool down, maybe swimming a width here and there, showering off, lying on a sunbed.
Clearly my expectations are too high and fashion swimwear is disposable after all. I did buy this from an outlet so reduced prices ( last years colours) thank goodness.
