Savings Account

Hello there, I'm a bit of a newbie, so please bear with me ^_^
...I'm two years out of uni and *finally* starting to accumulate some money again, and I need to start up a savings account. I've done a bit of shopping around, and was wondering if anyone here has recently opened a new Natwest online e-ISA?
It's 6% AER (and my current fav as I already have a Natwest current account, so withdrawals would be easier if needs be, but not if I can help it!).

Hello and welcome to MSE

If you're looking for an ISA, there's the NS&I Direct ISA which pays 6.3% - also look at the following articles which are updated weekly with the best accounts:
The Best Mini-Cash ISA: A tax free savings account
Savings Accounts: Top instant access payer 6.41% + rate guarantee until 2011.0 -
The best one is
Kent Reliance Building Society's Direct ISA pays 6.21% from £1, and also allows you to transfer any cash ISAs you have from other years into it, making it the top payer who does so (see Cash ISA Transfers article for more details).
as it wont shrink its rate to nothing after teh first 6 months.0 -
Surely NS&I Direct ISA is the best at 6.3% - the OP appears to have no savings accounts at present, hence no need to transfer from another ISA.

Nope kent reliance is the best as it wont shrink its rate in april 2008.0
-
NS&I Direct ISA is still the best rate at 6.3% - Kent Reliance has no rate guarantee that I can find...
Should NS&I decrease their Direct ISA rate in April 2008, the OP would then be able to transfer into the best ISA account allowing transfers in at that time.0 -
Lose interest during the transfer.
Kent is the best.0 -
Kent is not the best - there is no rate guarantee, the interest rate is inferior to that from NS&I. Both these facts are backed up by the article, therefore the NS&I Direct ISA is the best buy

NS and I have a history of rate bagging customers only for them to be on a issue x down the line.
Kents isa has been more consistent over the last few years.
I know where id put my cash.0 -
Surely NS&I Direct ISA is the best at 6.3%
..... it is, but needs a minimum £1k to set it up, which could be an issue to the OP?
If she really is starting from scratch - I would tend to align with the simple convenience of an ISA in the NatWest family initially. Then start looking for better rates if you find you can accumulate some greater funds. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
