hi i need to reinstall windows on my cousins laptop but i am unsure of what the shortcut for doing this is as mine is dell and that does not work. could soeone that knows please help me..... thanks Lewt

I don't have an Acer, but I'm guessing that there should be a recovery disk that came with it. It may also be the case that there is a partition with the windows recovery set on it (hidden). Post the model number and see if someone will point you in the right direction.

BTW, why do you have to do a restore? Al ot of things can be dealt with by asking the right question on this very forum!!0 -
Acer normally have a partition on the HD for this purpose.0

Me again, try hitting alt-F10 during start, no cd required ..........

Use a Windows XP CD to reinstall Windows, or use Acer eRecovery (press Alt+F10) to restore the factory default system from the hidden recovery partition or the restore CDs which it may have prompted you to create when the computer was first switched on. If these aren't available, use eRecovery to create to recovery CDs and then use these to restore Windows.0
