It is if working would get you off benefits and you don't want to live on benefits.

There’s a massive difference in the levels of support.

Lots of people ‘take the mick’, but tax credits etc were introduced for exactly this type of reason.

Warehouses often do early shifts and often need workers picking, packing, goods in etc, might be worth a look at the job centre. They can usually offer part time hours too or clock in hours, where you only get paid for the hours you work so they can be a bit more flexible.

Is there anything you can do which you could turn into a business? People will pay for all kinds of things if it means they don't have to do them, there's a lot of money in walking dogs for example.

Office work (call centre, accountants, solicitors, small local businesses)
    Supermarkets
    Warehouses
    Assembly work
Care work (health care assistant or admin)
    Receptionist

Have a look at Reed and other temp agency sites, you can filter jobs to parttime or full time (which tends to be 30h pw+) and keep an eye on gumtree but only apply for legit jobs where they give the company name or type of business/locality so you can google and establish what it is), keep an eye on shop windows.

If the benefit people/calculations are based on min wage then yes, it would be full time you are looking at. Bump up the money by 50p or £1 extra ph and it would probably balance out for less hours and a bit more than £10 pw.

What work have you done before? What skills can you transfer from that and your time of being a mum. Write a list if need be as I am sure you will be under estimating what you can do...organising, budgeting are two that I can think of.

    Good luck :)

Hotels? My place often needs breakfast shift staff in the main restaurant 6am-11am is the longest shift unless you want to do lunch service too in which case you're there until 3pm.
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
