Advantage gold query

Hi

Recently discussing annual travel insurance my friend told me they don't pay for theirs because it's free with their Natwest Advantage gold account. I quickly reminded them that actually it wasn't free since they were paying £12 a month for it. I was somwhat shocked by their reply which was 'we don't pay the fee its free!'

Does anyone know if this is true? perhaps if you earn over a certain amount?
I have often weighed up the pros & cons of the benefits versus charges but have yet to be convinced. But I am interested to know if it is possible to get this free. I believe it has moved to advantage gold private and this is still free of charge.

thanks

  • If he is a member of staff then he does not pay for advantage gold or a NatWest Bank pensioner or RBS Group employee. He does pay £12 a month otherwise but travel insurance being complimentary as part of the package is not the only benefit. I will not go through the benefits cos it could sound like an advert and I am not getting paid to make one on here.

    Thanks for replying

He doesn't work for the bank. Would they ever give it free to 'good' customers?
  • No is the answer, but ask your friend to check his statements for either, a) a charge of £12 or b) a direct debit for advantage gold on his account because he might pay it through this method.
