Thats like me, I do have very good quality audio equipment but I have it on low as id rather hear low volume good quality audio than loud tinny audio/someone with low quality speakers/sub but bass set to max)
It is sometimes difficult to reach that balance though when watching a movie and a intense scene comes on and intentionally gives you a very loud sound to scare you.
In my last flat I was told they can hear the speakers, not the dialog and not much bass just vibrations on the wall but bearing in mind I had the speakears right against the wall and after I moved them.0 -
Our last 2 houses have been detached, so not much noise from neighbours, apart from a few occasions when they got shouty with their teenagers.
The tiny modern semi where I lived on my own after my first marriage ended had adjoining lounges and main bedrooms:It was bad enough having no love life myself without being treated to my neighbour's headboard beating a tattoo in time to their their rather athletic activities!0 -
I live in a fairly modern mid terrace. Walls are as thin as lettuce leaves! My stairs are next to the living room of a neighbour one side. I remember baby sitting for that neigbour one evening and whilst in their living room, I could hear my then lodger going up and down the stairs several times.
My living room is next to the kitchen of the neighbour on another side so I do hear them in the kitchen, clattering pans and rummaging in the cutlery drawer.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

I live in a four bedroomed semi detached property, the dining room is next to next doors dining room. There are patio doors out to the garden. Tonight next door have people round, they are making a lot of noise and the children are playing football in the garden. It's nearly midnight. Earlier I had my patio doors open but had to shut them due to barbeque fumes and cigarette smoke. My daughter's bedroom is above their patio area albeit a few feet to the left.
It's not a regular occurrence, however when I move I will be very choosy as to the layout of the house.0 -
We are currently renting a Victorian terrace, living rooms and bedrooms join with other side. As well as the stairs as they are off our living room.
We hear so much noise from next door it keeps our daughter awake at night!
Currently in process of buying a semi, we've been at various times of day with the neighbours there and unless outside you can't hear a thing
Debt free finally :j
