Currys PC World Price Match - Online Item Only

Hey there,
I phoned Currys a couple weeks ago to ask about a price match on a Sony Camera lens as it was £350 on their site but £299 on amazon and park cameras (it still is).
https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/cameras-and-camcorders/photography-accessories/lenses/sony-e-35-mm-f-1-8-oss-standard-prime-lens-10156798-pdt.html
The customer service woman said I could price match the lens. It also clearly states this on the website too with the price comparison box comparing itself with amazon and other sites.
I only rang up first to double check the price match and also ask if i paid it all in vouchers, would i get the difference back in vouchers or cash, as i didn't know whether to buy £350 worth of vouchers and pay online or £300 and pay over the phone with just vouchers.
Anyway besides that, I went ahead after the phone call and cashed out my topcashback and quidco in Zeek and then bought currys vouchers from Zeek at a discounted rate, in full confidence that i could get a price match on this lens.
I went ahead and rang to buy the item, and now i am told off two people, that they can't price match the item as it is an 'online item only' and they won't price match it, even after being told i could. There is no where on the site that it says i can't price match the item and the price comparison box is there in full comparing the lens price to amazon and other companies. They said it is only 'stock they hold' that I can get a price match on, but again... it doesn't state anywhere that the stock is theirs or from the manufacturer.
I am now stuck with vouchers I don't want, as i could of just going straight to amazon, saved myself £50 and this hassle. I thought i was saving money but now i will probably end up paying more overall.
Is there anything i can do in this situation?
Thanks

Wow... well i thought i would try again, this time on live chat, and now it has worked. They gave me the discount code to bring down the difference and then used my vouchers for the payment.
The company is a joke, its like they don't communicate0 -
I have found Currys to be utterly unreliable about their price-match guarantee -- and at times outright lying or self-contradictory.
I no longer trust them at all with my custom because of how let down I have been with their customer support and shady use of this 'guarantee'.
It is a scam.0 -
