Manweb gas/elec bills
I have just been onto the phone to manweb after seeing that they have upped the normal bill of 23.50 to 82.50, this I found out after checking my bank balance, they hadnt notified me of this (they said they did, but letter was not recieved!) It turns out that as a below average gas/elec user, I still spend around £65 on gas/elec every month.....is it me, or is this really expensive!
Anyone got any advice on this matter, ie, which company should I sign up to, I have done the comparison thing, and it says npower, but Ive heard bad reviews on this supplier!

Hi,
I think before you go any further, you need to check if £82.50 is even right. Have they based your bills on estimates? If so, check your meter and if your reading is less than the bill - they have overestimated and hence upped your DD too high. Get a reading to them and ask them to re-assess your DD.
You will have that issue with every Supplier, so check that bit first.
Some Suppliers are worse than others but the same complaints occur in all of these companies.
As a consumer, always protect yourself and submit readings to replace your estimated bills. Take readings for your change of supplier events and meter changes (removal & installed readings) and you won't go far wrong as you will be pro-actively monitoring your Supplier.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
Hi, I called them , and according to manweb we are below average gas/electricity users, with this in mind, Im still flabbergasted that we still average £65 a month, thats not estimated, thats actually how much we average, for below average users....I dont get it, its a two bed flat, 65 a month, surely to go this isnt right....lol
Have switched to bg anyway, lets see how we go with them!0 -

There was a lot of publicity last year about the average household spending over £1,000 a year on gas and electricity.
That might have reduced a little with the price reductions earlier this year; but I would think the average would now be between £900 and £1,000.
So at £780pa you are below average.0 -
If your bill is based on actual meter readings, it all a matter of seeing how to say on your bills from their.
Try having a look at the Energy Saving Trust website or type in Energy Efficiency into Google for other sites like them.
You need to question where your average comes from as Suppliers do a lot of estimating which just confuses consumers. Try monitoring your meter yourself and work out what you spend on a daily basis.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
