My workplace's environment is not healthy?

I have just started my work recently and I have noticed that the environment in my workplace is not healthy. I can feel a certain tension between some of my co-workers. It was never hard to figure out since day one. I know it’s not my thing to get into, it’s just kind of disturbing most of the time. I love my work, however, it’s very tempting to leave sometimes and go somewhere else because of the negative environment. I’m not used to that kind of surrounding; it’s a foreign to me. I often get affected since I spend most of my time there. What should I do?

You are correct in saying it's not for you to get into. Just get on with your own work and steer clear of office politics. If you find the atmosphere too uncomfortable, look for another job.0

Hold on in there IF you can do the job, are being developed and have terms you are happy with? - perhaps one of the co-workers may leave and that could change the dynamics.
I recently left a job to which the employer jointly agreed to put me back in the same position as if I hadn't started (ie. no pay so that solved that) which was for the best and I took up less of their time as I don't think they would thank me for not being truer to myself, further down the line. I am looking to do different work and willing to start back at the bottom, whatever it takes to break away, although there is nothing wrong with giving something a try. You often don't know what you are walking into until the first day so I can empathise. I was lucky in that someone else had to sign my last employment contract and so they were aware of what was being signed up to which bounced out their advise, knowing me as they do so perhaps that is the way it needs to go.
Ultimately only you can ask yourself are YOU in the right environment? Can you change what may have been custom for many years. Is there a reason why they carry on as they do.0 -
Can you wear headphones at your desk? If yes then you could do that and just ignore them.
You get tension in every office as people are forced to spend time with colleagues they dislike. You just need to act professional and don't get involved with any squabbles.0 -

You could leave.
You could stay.
You could go sick.
You could go on Holiday.
You could of been born under a wandrin' star
You was born under a wandrin' star
Wheels are made for rollin'
Mules are made to pack
You've never seen a sight that didn't look better looking back
You was born under a wandrin' star
Mud can make you prisoner, and the plains can bake you dry
Snow can burn your eyes, but only people make you cry
Home is made for comin' from, for dreams of goin' to
Which with any luck will never come true
You was born under a wandrin' star
You was born under a wandrin' star
Oh dash you said should..i get confused over Should/could and would...:D0 -
Are you sure the environment isn't healthy? Perhaps it's just that you need more time to settle...
If there really is tension, there may be good reason for it - and if so, it's worth you seeing if you can understand what this is and whether it's likely to pass - for example, it could just be a busy period and people are just that bit more stressed - and things may be different a few months down the line.0 -
I think I should. Coz I don't have any other choice but to deal with it.0
