I picked up a savoy cabbage plant and a broad bean plant for 50p each yesterday – they’re not dead but not looking in too brilliant a condition but thought I would give it a go! Being relatively new to this veg growing, do you think they will survive and be prosperous? Also can I put them in my veg patch which previously had peas, carrots and beetroot?

Yes to all, worth a try if nothing else surely.
Give them a good soak before planting and keep an eye on them regarding water if the weather goes back to baking

Give it a go, you won't know unless you try and then you will know :D

One plant won't make any difference where you plant it.

Yes you can put them in the veg patch. I would cover the cabbage plant with some fine netting to keep the cabbage white butterflies off.
