Did you read the second paragraph? When you are using other websites they want to be able to target you with TSB ads, presumably restricting these to products you don't already have. To do that, they'd definitely need a third party tracking service.
I don't understand why they would need to track what I am doing in the mobile app in order to serve me adds when visiting other websites. They already know all about the products I have.

Yes, but they don't have direct access to those other websites - those websites will be selling advertising space to an ad company. TSB will need to share information with that ad company so that it can pick the right TSB ads to serve based on your profile. Virtually no ads on websites are controlled by the website itself or the advertiser featured in any individual ad.

You've made an assumption that the information they share is "what you are doing in the mobile app", when in fact the information they are sharing is much more likely to be a third party cookie containing information about you that can be read when you are not using the app.

Do you mean the mobile app tells the tracker site that I am using the app so that it can determine the ads to serve when I go to other sites?

Essentially yes. The app will provide information to the tracker site to help identify you on your device when you are browsing other websites.

OK, thanks. I need to look at the privacy terms again to consider that aspect.
