I'm afraid that you are only hearing what you want to hear, and totally avoiding anything you don't want to know about. So yes, I'm sorry but you are really coming across as entitled. It isn't, for example, about whether you "only take time off when you need to" - it is about the fact that everyone is telling you that three absences (now four?) within three months is too many, and in the first three months of your employment is way too many. It's about the fact that employers can legally dismiss you for too much sickness absence and you don't seem to understand that this is a serious risk. Equally, I'm sure that you did feel better when you took holiday on a Friday. Working from home is not a holiday, it's working. It's not counseling. It's not reflection. If you feel better when not working five days a week then the answer is to ask the employer to reduce your hours, not work from home which is just as many hours. You assume that you will get paid "regardless " - nobody gets paid regardless, and the more sick pay you claim the harder they will look at your attendance and your cost. You haven't proven yourself to them, and all you have is a list of the things that they must do for you. Because you've worked hard (for the three months, when you haven't been off sick or on holiday). You do realise that you are supposed to work hard?
I don't see this ending well at all. You need to make this less about you and more about what you can do to convince the employer that you should make six months.
I asked before - did you have the same attendance issues in your previous employment? How did you manage to get into work in your last job?0 -
M8, you really need to sort out the anxiety, easier said than done but its not a permanent fixture unless you make it so. Betablockers will only do so much for you and from the sounds of it, you have GAD which imo Betablockers are not good for.
Until that is sorted out, you will continue to have issues0 -
Another thing to beware of is your employment status, are you still on probation?0

Perhaps the OP might be persuaded to realise that her absence levels are excessive when she reads that, according to the Office for National Statistics, the average employee took only 4.1 days sickness absence last year. She is currently running at three times that level.

Only 3 days in the first three months....ONLY !?!?! That's an average of 12 days a year on the sick up to now - and not just days off these are separate instances. The problem is that deep inside, I think OP knew all we wrote, but that was part of their anxiety, hence the mention of preparing for the worse and already considering what will happen if they do lose their job. That's how anxiety works, imagining the worse, preparing for it, and then stressing about it, hence bringing on the anxiety on a day to day basis.
If you are still reading this OP, I agree that you need to hang on to the fact that you enjoy your job. This is gift and you need to do everything not to mess it up.
If you have a bad night, don't get up focusing on how it will mean you won't be able to make it for 7.5 hours, focus on the fact that you have nothing to lose by giving it a try and take it one hour after the other.
You're not sleeping well because you're anxious about what's to come and you can't cope with what's to come because you are not sleeping.
I hope you've been to the GP and you've taken what's been written here are a reality check to boost you, not scary words to justify your anxieties. Good luck.0
