Travel Insurance post surgery

Options
Hi,

I had a hysterectomy abdominally 6 wks ago and am currently looking to buy travel insurance for a trip within Europe. My surgery was not because of cancer or anything like that, was very straightforward and I have recovered well. There have been no complications and there is no ongoing treatment. My GP is happy for me to travel etc. Do I declare this as a 'pre-existing condition' or not? I can't seem to find a clear answer on this anywhere.

Thanks

You are better disclosing everything, the insurers tend to ask questions that you must answer truthfully. If you fail to mention your recent surgery and have complications whilst on holiday the insurance company might not cover you and might end up costing you a fortune.

You need to answer the questions asked truthfully.

If you are asked if you have been an inpatient in a hospital in the last x months then you must answer with the truth.

If they ask if you have visited your GP in the last x months then again you need answer truthfully.

Answer the questions given. My insurer requires declaration of any hospital treatment in the past two years. They may also say that you can't get cover until a certain number of weeks/months after surgery.
