    My question was precise. And each person i spoke to this morning new exactly what I was asking but was unable to answer the question. And I wasn't asking about tax credits etc I dont rely on benefits I just stated that I new that would be one of the consequences for myself. Thankyou

    I thought that your question was quite clear. I think you got the best answer from TabbyTabitha.

    Thankyou for the replys. My daughter has struggled all the way through school but as always done her best which is all I can ask for. She has got a part time job at the moment and a On a brighter note she has been talking to her employer today and they have said they will put her through an apprentiship aslong as she repeats her maths and English if she doesn't get the grades needed for it. This is almost the same course as she wanted to do at college but with a slightly better qualification at the end of it. So fingers crossed. ..!!!9786;!!!9786;

    That sounds like a good outcome.

    Not on this forum it wasn't: '" what happens if she drops out of education and just works"' could mean anything - only later in your posts did you say you were asking how it affected you. Perhaps being a little less defensive would mean those of us who were bemused might be better placed to comment helpfully.
  • She would be better to resist the GCSEs as a full year and get the required five. She needs this fundermentals.

    Not all areas offer this. Yes, English language and maths as re-sit GCSEs but no other subjects. Currently got a situation where I'm worried about my 15yo and her GCSEs due to be sat next year and this is one of my main worries, if she doesn't get them at school next year then she's nowhere else she can take them at a later date.

    That is quite usual. Colleges only have to offer Maths/English alongside the vocational course.

    Unfortunately maths and English would be the only option. Our local college won't resit other gsce's until the age of 19. :(:(
  • Would depend on your location, but look at six form collages and even her own school for retaking.
