  • I'm on the spectrum.... and I'd not wish to "be looked at" when parking in such a space. I like to find parking spaces miles away, where I can park unhindered ... it has to be an end spot too. Love the end spots....

That's all I ask for ... an end spot, doesn't matter where.
Ive had my badge for 4yrs never "been looked at when parking in such a space"! what ever that is supposed to mean...well I think I do

I'd like a badge, I don't care what colour, that entitles me to an end spot. Then I could get the door open far enough to get in & out of the car.

.. however, just make sure you park in the spot the right way...

  • Surely it is for people with mobility problems. That's the reason the spaces are closer to the shop as you are not physically able. More do-gooder drivel as far as I am concerned. Just wait for the next headline "Millions spent on redesign and remodelling of disabled spaces, permits etc, as 'person in a wheelchair logo' discriminates against non physically disabled people utilising disabled permits/parking"

We will end up with about 5 spaces left for athletes and the rest will be for mothers, fatties and those feeling a bit nervy.

One of the things on the spectrum, for some, is not wishing to be looked at .... and as somebody who apparently "looks normal" it'd be easier to have somebody look/assume and shout out or glare.

I don't like "being looked at" by people taking an interest in what I'm up to - and the extension to that would be for them to "speak out", which I am unable to respond except by having a complete meltdown as I can't give a "kill em quick" response that makes me "win" and them clearly "lose" so they scuttle off... I'd end up just crying and driving off home for a week. This is especially true as I'm likely to have used the F and C word at them as my only immediate words that sprang to mind... before scuttling.

Wow, some really enlightened individuals on this board. I weep for humanity.

Even with these changes people getting the disability element of PIP (formerly DLA) at the standard rate don't qualify. Go figure ! How is it possible that those who have limited ability to walk weren't first in the queue when this review was made ? It's shameful and MUST be reviewed again, I hope there is support for this ?
