I had a mortgage with Bank of Scotland that l paid off in 2014. I recieved the Deeds for the property. I am now selling, actually sold, and about to buy another property. I have given the deeds to the lawyer who is dealing with it. She called today to say there was two morgages against the property, one from Halifax and one from EPF. Also that there was no discharge noted. I asked my wife to have a look and she found a discharge for EPF. We never had any dealings wth Halifax, l am pretty sure this mortgage is the house as Halifax and BoS where combined. Since l have had the deeds returned l expect this is an error somewhere. Can anyone advise?

Does look like an error. Your Solicitor should be able to follow up with Halifax/ BoS if you have the loan reference etc.
Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
