Cycle carrier failed and bike damaged, can I claim?

...Car insurance say ... Not only is the bike not covered but you are not covered for any damage it might do.
I guess you're fortunate that you're not facing those claims, or a charge for carrying an insecure load.0 -
Look at your policy schedule and see if you have Personal Possessions cover. If you do, look at the 'Definitions' section of your policy booklet (the policy schedule tells you your level of cover, the policy booklet has all of the perils and exclusions listed - they are not the same thing), and under the Personal Possessions section, see if cycles are excluded. If they are, you're boned.
If cover does exist for your cycle, then there is probably a limit for cycles not specified on the policy.0
