Could be worn wishbone bush that the owner didnt fix, just let the tryes wear out and replace.

Choose another car or offer a few hundred pounds less and sort the issue.

Question is, how many miles has the car done in the time?
If it's done a lot of miles and the tyres have worn, fine.
If it's done few miles and the tyres have worn (less than 10,000 miles per time, let's say), they're wearing too quickly, and you could have any problem from a mis-aligned wheel to a bent chassis!
  • If the wheels are damaged from repeated hits, I would also be checking the track rods, and wishbones.

An MOT should show up any damage, but who knows what they've hit since the last MOT.

Sounds like a poor driver, with a lax sense of car care, and servicing.

    I would walk away.

Maybe they keep replacing with part worns . .
  • Over £3k for a 59 plate Fiat 500, too expensive. I paid that for a 2014 Nissan Note (Cat D repaired)

But the OP isn't looking for an accident damaged Nissan. There are however plenty of Fiat 500s about, I would suggest looking for a different one (and not to buy from Arnold Clark).

The tyres wouldn't worry me but the price would.........that was the point.

Thanks you all for your suggestions. Finally I decided to buy the car and the price was £3000. The car has a FSH and I was given all the record/receipt for the repairs/services.

The funniest part of this thread is the suggestion the tyres must be good because it passed an mot.
