I spoke to my line manager just now. She just didn't know what to do. She could just have told me this, but whatever. They want to pay me for 10 days to get it out of the way, have approved my 10 requested days and I still have a few days of AL remaining. Finally!
Thanks all for your advice and comments.0 -
That!!!8217;s cool. Just wondering why you choose to work weekends if you won!!!8217;t be with hubby. Perhaps sign for a new job?0

That means they should delay the return to work going part time by 2 weeks and you accrue another [STRIKE]0.72[/STRIKE] 0.65 days holiday.
edit: woops used the 0.1207 calc which is wrong for this case.0 -

I work in healthcare so unfortunately don't earn very well. Full-time childcare is too expensive, it's more than I earn. So initially I was going to resign altogether and look after my little girl until she starts nursery at 2 and a half, but my boss offered me weekends because fianc! is off weekends and can look after her. That's basically why I work weekends.0 -

Uhm you are specialised in healthcare - I'd suggest you earn very reasonably.
Out of curiosity what is 'not very well'?0 -

It's all relevant. Maybe someone thinks I earn very reasonably. I don't. My take-home is less than what childcare costs in this area.
I'm not going to divulge it though. That's not what this is about.0 -

Thanks for this. You're completely right. I was relieved to get an answer, it took me some thinking to work out that this doesn't make any sense (and I've been wothout a phone/online access for a few days). I've been told by ACAS that they can't legally pay me anyway and it amounts to discrimination to avoid giving me my AL. I'm back to work on Saturday and my contract changes to part-time on the day. Anyway, I'll sort it. Thank you.0 -

At the end of the day if you are happy to be paid it then it doesn't really matter whether legally they can or not, they of course run the risk you take it further but if it provides closure for you then its worth considering and moving onDon't trust a forum for advice. The 2 alternative to letting them pay the 10 days holidays and earning 4 days pay
2 more weekends at home(on full pay) and another 1/2 day holiday
10 days holiday to take, could be 5 more weekends at home
Unless I desperately needed the pay now more time off wins for me.0 -

Yep, same here. The time trumps the money for me too. I'd like the 10 days holiday/5 weekends at home with my baby. I would have accepted the 2 weekends on full pay with the half day holiday before I had reduced my hours though. It's done now. Nice to know I can refuse the money and expect the leave.0
