in Techie Stuff
have 100s of photos on my laptop which is just about had it .am looking to replace it but before it gives up altogether I would like to take the photos off it what would be the best way to do this ,nothing to complicated if possible as am not really technical minded .

Cheap USB stick would be my choice.0

I'd get a My Passport or similar USB storage device and once you've done the trqnsfer keep using it for future backups of your photos, as you risk losing them for good if anything happens to the laptop.Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.0

One more option to consider is to download the Google Photos sync tool available at https://photos.google.com/apps and it will upload all your photos to your Google account.
Once they have uploaded you can log in at https://photos.google.com to prove to yourself they are all there, then you can delete them from your laptop.0 -
Id consider 2 options, use Google Photos as suggested and a portable hard drive.0
