Marketing breach, please help

Bought a new car and going through the papaerwork to find a printed sheet from them titled Marketing Permissions.

It states here that they would like to contact me and if I am happy to then let them know below.
This has the following options with boxes to tick yes or no :
Email
Post
SMS
Phone

Then customer signature and sales person signature.

Where I should have signed it (if I consented, which I haven’t and would have ticked no to all boxes) the sales person has wrote my name, and ticked yes to email and phone.

This is maybe not a breach, but has forged a document without my knowledge, as I don’t think this should have been in my paperwork. Any suggestions what I should do?

Thanks for any suggestions or help.

Let them know you don't want to receive marketing and they can update your preferences.

Thanks, I will be making sure that they don!!!8217;t contact me. But the question is my signature was forged and I was never shown this piece of paper until I went through the paperwork at home, so where does this lie with GDPR?!

They should have asked you explicitly for consent.

If you want to make a formal complaint, you can do that via the ICO where it will be registered.

Didn!!!8217;t say anything about compensation. I just wanted to know where I stand so I can go back in with all information when I ask why they did it.

If they have genuinely forged the signature on that one piece of paper, yes complain about it, firm will get a telling off for doing so and maybe a fine, serve them right

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Why would you ask them that? Complain to the ICO and they'll get a slapped wrist.

You won't get any money personally, however, since you have suffered no loss.

If an employee has committed fraud then the employee has also acted against the employer as much as they have acted against you. So, raising your concerns with the employer is the main thing to do here.
