Do you have to explain why you are claiming housing benefit? Why you are looking to move home?

On join tenancy agreements do they look at bank statements and wage slips on both parties or only main party?

I've not rented before so I don't know how accurate they are. I need small adaptations done to the property before moving in and this website claims you can claim housing benefit 4 weeks prior to moving in?

You still need to have a valid tenancy ageement in place to be eligible for the above
and the LA will require information as to why you wish to claim for the additional 4 weeks

If it's a joint HB claiming surely they would want to see bank statements from both applicants?

It would be so much easier if you posted all of your information in one go rather than drip feed it. Someone could then give you one correct answer.

If you are single but have a joint tenancy only your information required but you will only get maximum housing benefit for your share of the rent (or less if the Local Housing Allowance is lower). If the joint tenancy is with someone who is your partner then the claim must be made as a couple - indeed it must be made as a couple even if only one of you is named on the tenancy agreement.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Great info. So, only if your a couple will require both parties documents.

Do you have to pay your deposit to agree to the tenancy agreement with a signature? I heard they send you a digital email copy and you sign at the property the original paper one?

Is HB generally given to people who were once paying rent, however due to illness/redundancy or loss of job required HB?

Or do situations like housing disputes, fear of violence, unsuitable for a disabled person to live in current housing qualify for HB?

You do what the letting agent/landlord tells you to do

Which is it or is it just a general question

Try your local council as well
