    May be. May be not.

If a non-refundable room rate had been booked the choices would have been staying or loosing your money on the hotel. I feel sure the hotel would not be offering alternative hotels elsewhere.

I bet the Virgin package rate is closer to the refundable rate though. These are all really cheap hotels too at a cheap time of year for Orlando.

Clarion Inn and Clarion Suites are different.

The Clarion Inn is I think the Rosen owned property in Lake Buena Vista.

The Clarion Suites which you have been offered as an alternative is in Kissimmee.

Keep in mind that the Enclave had a kitchen and is SC. Not sure if that is important for you but with the other set ups the best you would get is a room with a microwave and fridge, or even just a hotel room.

That was my main point with virgin i need to kitchenette and i have budgeted for the breakfast...whether the breakfast is good or bad i have budgeted for something and with less than 8 weeks to go now i cannot just magic up money!! And Cubegame thank you for your points but i am not asking peoples views on the accomodation i was asking for opinions on my situation and where to go with abta and virgin and if anyone has been in this situation and what has happened!! The accomodation may be cheap for you but it isnt for me and i just wanted some advise on my situation with the works going on in the hotel

Thanks i am not on social media but i didnt think to email them to ask for some more details to put my mind at rest! Or so i can at least know what to expect!! Actually i remember looking at the Claron Inn before i booked the Enclaves i will try and have a look and also try and speak to abta tomorrow too see what they advise :)

I am not on social media per se BUT I do use social media for complaints and info, it is the best way to get quick answers/resolutions.

Worth thinking about creating a facebook account just for those purposes

None of this will have any effect on your holiday. The lobby area is hardly a lobby that you will use, same as the eating area. (You won't be forced to eat sitting on a ladder or next to someone drilling)
Don't let it get you down, you will spend most of the time in the room/apartment and out and about.

My main point was that they are at the lower end of the market and will therefore all be similar.

We stayed at the Enclave Suites and also the Clarion Suites Maingate when we did Florida a couple of years ago. I don't remember anything about any either hotel.....

Is it an option to cancel your hotel with Virgin and rebook direct? As I said, August is a quiet time in Orlando (it's too hot!) and as such it's normally the cheapest time of year for hotels.

As for needing a kitchenette, have you researched food prices in Orlando? I'd be surprised if it was cheaper to cook your own food than eat out.

My main issue with the refund is i have read about how slow virgin are at refunding and we have less than 8 weeks to go so potentially we could be booking in the last few days leaving most of the choice gone and what is available very expensive...also i have paid for my seats on the flights with VA parking at airport, park tickets all paid for if it were refunded late my holiday could not go ahead therefore im kinda stuck with them!! Or risk losing the rest of the money...think its the reason they emailed me 3 days after the payment was due if not its a terrible coincidence ;);) i need a fridge for personal reasons thats why its important not for the dining aspect. I do not plan on cooking whilst im away! But it will help me to store some bits too for my dd for at night!

Reading between the lines you have a separate hotel booking with Virgin then?

Why not look to see if you can find a new hotel which you can book with no deposit? Then you'll have the money refunded by Virgin in time to pay. You wouldn't be paying your hotel bill until you leave anyway.

As I've noted, Orlando is not busy in August/September. Even leaving it late will give you loads of choice for hotels.

Might be worth asking the same questions on https://www.thedibb.co.uk . An entire website devoted to Florida holidays and lots of people who really know their stuff ( and have been to Orlando many, many times)
