Just give short anwers and if they dont release funds take it up with the financial ombudsman.

Why would anyone rather do all that than put their job and salary - (which your bank would see anyway when its paid into your accouunt) on a confidental form. ?

Because there in this instance isnt any justifiable need for that particular bit of information.

You might be happy to give out information about yourself at the drop of a hat, but I dont give out detials of myself or employment etc etc unless somebody has a genuine need for it, and this isnt a genuine need. This particular question sounds more of a ploy to be able to aim certain products at OP in the future.
  • Hi all,
Thank you for your input. I'm not sure what it was all about with this 'source of funds questionnaire', but as I suspected it was completely irrelevant. The call-centre staff at Jupiter, to be honest, sounded completely incompetent and didn't seem to have a clue what they were talking about.
Without having filled out the questionnaire, I was sent a cheque in the post, which has now been safely cashed into my account.
While I can understand such data collection on large investments, I think many of you agreed with me that sending such a questionnaire in regards to an investment made nearly a decade ago and amounting to only a few hundred quid is pretty ridiculous!
I will not be returning their questionnaire, and it will soon be heading to it's natural habitat - the recycling bin!
    Thanks again!

Put down that the source of funding is gun running and selling drugs..and let us know what happens. I suspect it's just box tickingand even if you put that down they'd be OK withit

In the UK in terms of AML you are guilty till proven otherwise even though Russian money is in and out of the country every day without issue.

Having said this I have money with the National Savings and HL and they have never given me any bother so it may be that some firms are worse than others.
